Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation seeks a Cardiovascular Lab Technician to assist in cardiac cath and EP lab procedures, scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under supervision. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

Responsibilities include applying the most appropriate technique, developing and implementing treatment plans, maintaining equipment and rooms in a safe condition, and ensuring thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Cardiac Cath or EP lab experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Associate's degree or accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited Radiology program.
• BLS within 14 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months; RCIS/RCES or CST or ARRT(R) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in Cardiac Cath / EP lab procedures, scrubbing, circulating and monitoring under supervision.
• Develops and implements procedure/treatment plans using established hospital protocols.
• Completes required documentation to comply with hospital policies.
• Maintains equipment, labs and work areas to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities to align care with standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job Summary

Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab/ EP Lab principals/theory and utilizes the
• most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines and
• according to current competencies and scope of practice.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to
• ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that
• patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
