Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certificate 1 CST required; Certificate 2 BLS required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or military/public health service training.
• Holds and maintains a certified CST credential recognized by leading bodies.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the circulating nurse to prepare the operating room and sterile field.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and provides instruments during intraoperative care.
• Passes supplies, assists with suctioning, and counts instruments and supplies.
• Recognizes and reports patient safety issues promptly.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Supports efficient turnover by coordinating equipment and kits for upcoming cases.
