Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Jersey Shore University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our compassionate care team. You will deliver patient-centered nursing care, coordinate with the health care team, and ensure safe, evidence-based treatment across units.

You will participate in ongoing education, use bar-scanning and electronic documentation, and support patients and families through transitions of care while upholding our standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Step down progressive care experience preferred.
• LVAD experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Telemetry certified preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Ability to learn quickly with strong patient focus, teamwork, and commitment to ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices per current evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team about status and plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care.
