Job summary

Geisinger’s Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Department seeks a Physician Assistant to join per diem at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. You will work with the surgical team to care for patients in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include autonomous patient evaluation, ordering tests, prescribing medications within scope, maintaining medical records, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and staff to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
• Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provides care to new or established patients in collaboration with the physician.
• Orders testing and interprets results; prescribes medications within PA scope.
• Maintains accurate entries in the electronic medical record.
• Prescribes, adjusts or discontinues medications or therapies as appropriate.
• Collaborates with nursing, staff physicians and other department staff.
• Performs procedures within the PA scope of practice and communicates with the team.
