Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center seeks a Physician Assistant in a per diem capacity for the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Department. The role involves autonomous patient care, collaboration with physicians, and responsibilities across evaluation, testing, and medical management.

The position requires a Bachelor's and preferably a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies, with BLS certification and NCCPA credentialing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
• Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physician to provide care to new or established patients.
• Demonstrate autonomy in patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
• Order tests as needed and interpret results within PA scope.
• Prescribe or adjust medications as appropriate within PA scope.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and communicate with staff.
• Perform procedures within PA license scope.
• Educate patients and families in a language they understand.
