Job summary

Indiana University Health Medical Group in Lafayette, IN is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team at IU Health Arnett Hospital. The role blends OR time, hospital care, and clinic visits, with a day shift schedule and call responsibilities.

You will work closely with two physicians and one advanced practice provider to manage about 30 patients per week, perform first assist in the OR, and support pre/post-operative care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field (nursing or medicine) required.
• ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA certification/credential required.
• Experience in surgical cardiology or CV surgery required.
• First assistant skills in the OR required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to cardiovascular and thoracic pathology patients, including cancers and valve disorders.
• Co-manage pre/post surgery care in hospital.
• Assist with triage needs for office visits.
• First-assist in the OR.
• Endoscopic vein harvesting, must have experience.
• Manage chest tubes and wounds.
• Thoracentesis and arterial lines.
• Travel may be required during orientation.
