Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Cardiac Surgery department. The PA will handle ICU coverage, clinic support, and first assisting in the OR, with a schedule of M-F 4x10s, one weekend per month, and two holidays per year.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of PA experience is required.
• Prior OR experience is required.
• Certification requirements include BLS and ACLS per department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical exams.
• Provide direct clinical care to patients.
• Prescribe medications and orders per privileges.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Document care in medical records and coordinate referrals.
