Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient APP team. You will work with CT Surgeons, Fellows, and intensivists in the ICU and on the floor, perform bedside procedures, and assist in the OR as needed.

Ideal candidates have ARC-PA accreditation, CA PA licensure, NCCPA certification, and experience in inpatient cardiac surgery, ECMO, and heart transplant care. Credentialing through OMAG/CIDP is required before start.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Physician Assistant with cardiac surgery exposure in OR/ICU/floor settings.
• Senior PA: inpatient cardiac surgery experience in ICU/floor; ER/OR first or second assist including EVH and radial artery harvest.
• Experience with ECMO, heart transplant, complex aortic, CABG, and valvular surgeries is preferred.
• Licenses/certifications: CA PA license, NCCPA, DEA, BLS, ACLS; OMAG/CIDP privileging required.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient CT surgery patients in ICU and on the floor.
• Perform bedside procedures and assist CT surgeons and intensivists.
• Support credentialing, privileging, and documentation for UCSF Health operations.
• Contribute to patient education and clinical mentoring of APPs and residents.
