Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech I at CHMC to support physicians by performing electrocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitor procedures. The role includes preparing patients, monitoring vitals, and ensuring high quality tracings for interpretation.

Requirements include a hospital-approved cardiology tech program or equivalent experience, 12-lead lead knowledge, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of a hospital-approved cardiology tech program or related college coursework, or the equivalent of one year of stress test or EKG experience.
Knowledge of 12-lead lead placement and skin preparation techniques.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
Ability to recognize artifacts and arrhythmia patterns.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for stress testing per protocols and monitor BP and ECG status.
Use ECG recorders to produce accurate, artifact-free tracings.
Obtain patient histories for physician review and document findings.
Prepare documentation and tracings for physician review.
Instruct patients on post-procedure activities and study restrictions.
Set up ambulatory ECG recorders and train patients in their use.
Follow department policies on crash carts and daily defibrillator checks.
Assist in orienting new staff and students in stress testing techniques.
