Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a part-time Cardiovascular Sonographer to join the Rex Heart and Vascular Diagnostics team. You will perform advanced cardiac ultrasound and vascular studies, prepare the procedure room, and assist with pre- and post-procedure patient care including CPR.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Sonography or Radiology, ARDMS/CCI certification (or eligible within 1 year), and at least 1 year of acute hospital experience. On-site work with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or related field within 3 months of hire.
• ARDMS or CCI registration, or registry eligible with 1 year to obtain.
• One year minimum experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in pre- and post-procedure patient care including CPR.
• Ensures equipment calibration and maintenance; performs QA monitoring.
• Generates ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures; advanced studies.
• Performs vascular studies and real-time readings for procedures.
• May train staff and serve as a subject matter expert for Cardiovascular Sonographers.
• Manages patient data, reports, and data system entries; supports charge entry.
• Prepares procedure room and equipment; responds to on-call needs.
