Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Sonographer to support Rex Heart and Vascular Diagnosti in Raleigh, NC. The role involves ultrasound imaging of cardiac and vascular structures, basic patient care before and after procedures, and data/report management in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in Sonography or Radiology with ARDMS/CCI eligibility and at least one year of acute hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Sonography, Radiology, or related field within 3 months of hire.
• ARDMS/CCI registry or eligibility; must register within 1 year.
• Minimum 1 year experience in acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-procedure patient care, including CPR when needed.
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is calibrated and maintained daily.
• Acquire ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures.
• Perform vascular studies and real-time readings in ORs.
• Conduct studies for NICU and pediatric patients.
• Provide staff training and act as a specialist resource.
• Record patient information and prepare reports for charge entry.
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and between procedures.
• Respond to on-call emergencies.
