Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Cardiovascular Team. The role supports the surgical team as a scrub person under RN supervision to ensure sterile technique and safe procedure conduct.

Responsibilities include preparing instrumentation, supplies, and devices and maintaining readiness during procedures. On-call availability within 30 minutes is required according to unit standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of Cardiovascular acute hospital setting preferred; one year required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR courses with manikin check-off.
• LPN Licensure (if applicable).
• Surgical Technology Certification (CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Technologist works as a scrub person under RN supervision to facilitate safe invasive procedures.
• Prepare and handle instrumentation, supplies, and devices for surgical procedures.
• Be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call and participate in on-call schedule.
