Job summary

Surgical Technologist at St. Tammany Health System supports the surgical team as a scrub person under RN supervision. You will prepare instrumentation and supplies, ensuring sterile technique for invasive procedures and patient safety.

Two years in a cardiovascular acute hospital setting are preferred, with one year required. On-call availability and a 40-hour week with a Monday–Friday 10:30 am–7 pm shift are expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of Cardiovascular acute hospital setting preferred, one year required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology. LPN Licensure (if applicable).
• One (1) year experience is preferred or STHS experience through the Surgical Tech Educational affiliate program.
• Acute Care OR preferred. Current BLS certification through ILCOR courses required.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Technologists function as members of the surgical team as scrub person under RN supervision.
• Prepare and handle instrumentation, supplies and devices for procedures while maintaining sterility.
• Maximize patient safety and adhere to professional standards during invasive and surgical cases.
