Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Operating Room Nurse responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures and department admissions to the operative suite. The nurse reports to the Nurse Manager and is supervised by the RN in the operating rooms to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with setup and instrument counts, and supporting the circulating team to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Adheres to standards and aseptic techniques.
• Preoperative hand scrub is performed.
• Instrumentation and supply setup.
• Ability to concentrate and respond quickly to directions.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to standards and aseptic techniques, including preoperative hand scrub and instrumentation/setup.
• Sets up room quickly with minimal supervision.
• Pulls correct instruments and supplies.
• Participates in instrument, sponge counts per facility policy.

Responsibilities:

• Setsuproomquicklyandcorrectly,withminimalsupervision
• Pullscorrectinstrumentsandsupplies
• Demonstratesabilitytoconcentrateandquicklyrespondappropriatelytodirectionsgivenbycirculating RNorphysician(s).
• Acirculatingnurse,assiststhescrubbedteamwithadditionalstaff,supplies,procedures,andotherservices.
• Participatesinallinstrument,spongecounts,andothercountsasdesignatedbythefacility'spoliciesandprocedures;tomaintainasafepatientcareenvironment.
• Fostersacooperativeeffortinmeeting thegoalsofnursingandsharingtheworkload.
• Communicatesapositiveandcaringattitudetowardthe area, peers, staff, patients, and other contacts;demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of client facilities, patients, and staff.
• Seeksguidance,direction,andassistancewhenneeded.
• Identifiesownlimitationsandseeksguidanceasrequired.
• Accuratelycommunicatesneedstoco-workersandsupervision.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patients, andhospital-relatedcommunications/documents.
• Maintainsclinicalskillsandexpandsknowledgebasethroughparticipationincontinuouseducation programs.

• Afteracceptingafacilityassignment,arrivesatthefacilitybeforetheschedulesshiftstartstosigninatthenursingofficeandreportto the unit on time for orientation and/or report.
• Workassignmentsarecompletedduringtheassignedshift,unlessovertimeisapprovedbytheArea or Facility Supervisor
• Dress/attireworntothehospitaliscleanandprofessional.Wearsandusesdesignatedsurgicalattire appropriately.
• Servesasarolemodelthroughthesupportofother facility and Amergis co-workers,adherestospecific facility/unit standards.
• Documentationandconfirmationofoneyearofoperatingroomclinicalexperienceinan acute care hospital withinthelastthreeyearspreferred
• Current BLS card.
• Physicaldexterityand perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform all required duties
• CurrentPPDorChestX-Ray
• Successfulcompletionofthe Amergis StaffingSolutionstestingprocess.
