Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Pontiac, MI seeks a Cardiovascular Technician to conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems for diagnostic purposes, assist in cath lab procedures and record results.

Responsibilities include patient prep, explain procedures, maintain equipment, complete QA, comply with Joint Commission and regs, and document data.

Qualifications include RCIS/RCES/RTR certification, timely renewal, 3 years allied health experience, BLS, and part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) OR Registered Radiological Technologist (RTR).
• Graduate of an accredited program, RCIS or RCES registration required within six months of hire.
• Graduate from non-accredited program and obtain RCIS or RCES within 18 months; one year work experience required for registry exam.
• Graduate of a program in Respiratory Therapy, LPN, or Echo Tech; RCIS within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, analyzes, obtains, calculates and documents data from procedures.
• Explains testing procedures to patient to obtain cooperation.
• Prepares reports of diagnostic procedures for physician interpretation.
• Maintains and operates cardiology equipment; performs QA as required.
• Assists physician during cardiac cath lab procedures including angioplasty.
