Job summary

UW Health, based in Madison, WI, seeks a Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology & Tech-Pediatrics to perform pediatric, adolescent and adult diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures. The technologist will act as an expert in invasive cardiology, supporting cardiologists with complex cases and supervising routine to advanced EP operations.

• ACLS certification within 6 months required.
• CVIS training program completed or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric, adolescent and adult diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures.
• Oversee technical operations for routine through advanced EP procedures as part of the Heart and Vascular Care team.
• Educate and train staff within the department in invasive cardiology procedures.

Work Schedule

85% FTE, 34 hours per week, One week of the pay period would be 3 ten-hour shifts, the next week would be 3 ten-hour shifts and 1 eight-hour shift for a total of 68 hours a pay period. Operating hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 5:00PM. Every third weekend on call with an hour response time. You may be eligible for up to a $8,500.00 sign-on bonus. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay

• This position may be eligible for a $ 8,500.00 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).
• Additional components of compensation may include:
  • Evening, Night & Weekend shift differential
  • Overtime
  • On-call pay

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology &Tech-Pediatrics to:

• Perform pediatric, adolescent and adult diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures.
• Function independently as an expert technologist in invasive cardiology who is a highly competent and clinically skilled member of the Heart and Vascular Care Procedure Center patient care team. In addition to assisting Cardiologists with the most complex procedures, you'll oversee the technical operations required for the performance of routine diagnostic through the advanced interventional electrophysiology procedures.
• Be an expert in invasive cardiology procedures based on their knowledge, clinical and technical skill level and ability to educate and train staff within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Technologist (CVIS) training program Required
• One year of Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology experience or participation in the CVT apprenticeship program may be considered in lieu of education requirement
• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) Technologist training program Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years of Cardiovascular Technologist work experience in a Cardiac Catheterization or Electrophysiology Laboratory Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Upon Hire Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months Required
• RCES, RCIS, or HRS CEPS Certification of Special Competency in Cardiac Electrophysiology for Associated Professionals Preferred
