Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Poplar Springs, MS seeks a certified medical assistant to support clinicians with mobility, testing, phlebotomy, and peri-procedure care. You will assist patients through visits and procedures, perform both clinical and clerical duties, and help maintain documentation and education in a patient-centered workflow.

Role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA/NRCMA/NCMA certification, BLS, and experience with EKGs, venipuncture, EMR, and inter-department communication.

Qualifications

• Certified CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA through an approved agency.
• Completed at least 400 clinical hours in Cardiology and hold BLS.
• Skilled in EKGs, venipuncture, monitor setup, and mobility assistance.
• Proficient with EMR documentation and inter-department communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical staff and physicians in patient care and testing.
• Assist patients during visits, procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical and clerical duties, including documentation and education.
• Deliver care in a warm, professional, team-oriented manner.
• Coordinate messages between departments and manage patient flow.
• Maintain exam and procedure rooms, and assist with HIPAA compliance.
