Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South is seeking skilled clinicians to support cardiology care in Zachary, LA. The role requires an active Louisiana LPN license or CMA/MA certification with BLS, strong communication, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana LPN license and BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, triage, injections, and diagnostic support.
• Patient-centered communication and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Record and update vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and patient concerns
• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, injections, EKGs, blood draws, and diagnostic preparations
• Provide clear patient education and post-visit instructions to promote understanding and follow-through
• Document care and provider orders accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Support Coumadin clinics, pacemaker/defibrillator checks, and monitor setup
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical areas; complete weekly OSHA and safety checks
• Respond to patient inquiries in person and by phone, ensuring excellent communication and service
• Collaborate across departments to facilitate timely care, accurate documentation, and smooth workflow
