Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a per diem cardiothoracic service APC to support medical care for surgical patients at a major Lehigh Valley hospital. The role involves initial patient evaluations, invasive monitoring, and participation in education and quality projects.

Responsibilities include collaboration with surgical and non-surgical teams, assisting in patient education, and contributing to data-driven improvements in patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in acute care is required.
• A valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required.
• Experience as an APC managing an ICU or OHU environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon and non-surgical providers for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
• Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
• Educate patients and families during their inpatient course.
• Support the mission and goals of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
