Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a per diem Acute Care APC to join the Heart & Vascular Institute ICU team in Allentown, PA. You will collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgeon and other providers to deliver expert patient care to postoperative cardiac patients.

Responsibilities include initial evaluation, invasive monitoring line placements, ongoing education, and contributing to quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Board certification in acute care is required.
• PA/MD license or eligibility in Pennsylvania.
• Experience as an APC in an ICU/OHU setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial evaluation and examination of assigned patients.
• Place invasive monitoring lines including CVCs, dialysis lines, arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.

This per diem position will be responsible for the care and management of cardiothoracic surgical patients in the ICU, such as:

• Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
• Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
• Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.
• Support the mission and goals of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
