University Health Associates in Morgantown, WV is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) for the Heart and Vascular Institute to provide CT surgery patient care.

The role supports nurse practitioners and physician assistants across inpatient and ambulatory settings, with emphasis on perioperative management, rounds, and discharge planning. Strong clinical judgment and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing
• National Certification by APRN Certification Centers
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN/ARNP in WV
• BLS certification required; CNOR/ACLS as applicable
• PA qualifications include ARC-PA, NCCPA, and WV licensure eligibility

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for CTSurgery patients and families in inpatient and post-discharge settings.
• Completes daily rounds, pre-procedure evaluations weekdays and as needed.
• Documents assessments and plan in the EMR.
• Orders labs and diagnostics per guidelines and protocol.
• Communicates lab and diagnostic results to the care team.
• Develops discharge planning and referrals.
• Identifies complex patient care situations and coordinates interventions.
• Initiates emergency care when required.
• Coordinates tests and services for outpatient follow-up.
• Provides education to patients, families, and staff.
• Maintains ongoing knowledge through annual competencies.
