Job summary

Requires RI RN licensure; Baccalaureate preferred; BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate. Night shifts, 12-hour rotations.

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN licensure or eligibility.
• BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate; competency to provide patient care across life span.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Provides leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding the patient care outcome/discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Utilizes resources to provide quality, cost effective patient care.
• Maintains clinical competencies and credentialing standards including safety education.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced personnel.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
