Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island RN license required or licensure via Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience providing care to patients across the life span with cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a hospital setting.
• Lead and supervise nursing activities, delegating tasks to staff.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding discharge planning.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide appropriate teaching.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Utilize resources to deliver quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies and complete required trainings (BLS and ACLS/PALS).
• Identify growth needs and participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
• Serve as a role model and preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
