Qualifications

• Must hold RN licensure in Rhode Island or in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• NIHSS certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire; 8 hours stroke education required annually.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Demonstrates leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding care outcomes and discharge planning.
• Assesses teaching needs and provides appropriate patient/family education.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
