Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant (CNA) for Cardiothoracic Stepdown on rotating shifts. The CNA provides direct patient care in partnership with the RN/LPN and supports unit operations.

Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, taking vital signs, documenting in the medical record, assisting with activities of daily living, transfers, and routine tests, while upholding infection control and patient dignity.

Formación

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift/move patients weighing over 35 pounds with assistance.
• Current Nursing Assistant I (NA I) certification in NC or eligibility.
• BLS certification required or maintained.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN of information collected.
• Administer basic care including feeding, bathing, grooming, ambulation and daily living activities.
• Take and record vital signs, document I&O, and notify RN/LPN of changes in condition.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transportation of patients; support unit operations.
• Maintain unit cleanliness, restock supplies and adhere to infection control practices.
