U K Healthcare Ltd is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Technician to support cardiac monitoring and virtual patient observation. The role includes telemetry data interpretation and timely communication with nurses or providers.
When scheduled at the TeleSitter station, you will monitor patients remotely and respond to behaviors that risk safety, escalating to bedside staff as required. You will document findings and maintain equipment while protecting patient privacy.
This position supports cardiac monitoring and virtual patient observation services. Based on operational needs, the Cardiopulmonary Technician is assigned to either the telemetry monitoring station or the TeleSitter station during each shift.
When assigned to telemetry monitoring, responsibilities include continuously observing cardiac telemetry data; identifying, interpreting, and documenting changes in heart rhythm and potential arrhythmias; and promptly communicating pertinent findings to the appropriate nurse or provider in accordance with department standards.
When assigned to the TeleSitter station, the Cardiopulmonary Technician remotely observes multiple hospitalized patients through real-time video and two-way audio from a centralized monitoring station.
The technician identifies behaviors that may place patients at risk for falls, elopement, self-harm, or interference with medical equipment. The technician provides immediate, respectful verbal redirection when appropriate and promptly alerts bedside clinical staff when in-person assistance, intervention, or escalation is needed.
The Cardiopulmonary Technician documents pertinent telemetry findings, patient behaviors, interventions, and staff notifications; maintains telemetry and TeleSitter equipment; assists with equipment troubleshooting; serves as a resource to clinical areas; and protects patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Successful completion of the EKG competency assessment is required in accordance with UK nursing guidelines.
