Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED; associates/bachelor in Life Sciences or CV Technology cert preferred.
• One year cardiology diagnostic experience preferred; stress testing and arrhythmia recognition essential.
• Pacemaker experience highly preferred; Spanish fluency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostics: EKGs, event monitoring, pacemaker interrogation, stress testing under physician direction.
• Take vital signs, monitor patient responses during tests, and review medical history and medications.
• Occasional duties as medical secretary: chart management, receptionist and clerical tasks to support department operations.

Shift Detail: May require regional travel to the following locations: MMC cardiology, MG cardio Southington, MG cardio Prospect, MG Cardio Plainville, MG Cardio Wallingford.

Job Summary

The cardiology technician performs a variety of non‑invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including EKGs, event monitoring application, pacemaker interrogation, and, under physician direction, stress testing. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, monitoring patient responses during diagnostic testing, rooming patients, and reviewing medical history and medications. The position also requires occasional duties as a medical secretary, supporting chart management, receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate department operations.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or certification in Cardiovascular Technology (preferred). Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program (preferred).
• Experience: One year of experience in diagnostic cardiology preferred. Experience in cardiac stress testing and arrhythmia recognition essential. Pacemaker experience highly preferred.
• Skills: Effective customer service, verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, self‑motivated.
• Preferred Qualifications: Fluent in Spanish; experience with EMR Epic.
