Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT is seeking a patient services clerk to support the nursing team with essential clerical tasks and daily patient care activities.

You will monitor telemetry for rhythm irregularities, prepare and maintain patient records, transcribe physician orders, and perform receptionist duties. This role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and supports a busy hospital setting.

• Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English and have basic computer skills.

Position Summary

Performs a variety of clerical support and other duties to assist the nursing staff in carrying out daily patient care activities. Monitors cardiac rhythms via telemetry monitors. Prepare and maintains patient medical records. Transcribes and expedites physician orders. Functions as a Receptionist. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Will be required to pass an arrhythmia course or challenge exam during the new employee introductory orientation period.

Competencies

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English and have basic computer skills.
• Must maintain competency required for area of assignment.
