Job summary

Banner Health’s Cardiology Clinic in Mesa, AZ seeks a Surgery Scheduler. You will manage scheduling for elective and urgent surgeries, coordinate benefits, and ensure proper sequencing of procedures within the clinic.

Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, strong medical clerical experience, and be willing to cross-train to support other clinics when schedulers are out. Day shifts Monday–Friday, with standard hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of medical clerical experience preferred, hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling is ideal.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Understanding payor contract terms and processes is needed.
• Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software and computerized scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries in scheduling system.
• Obtain authorization numbers, medical records, and ensure information is current.
• Print physician orders and manage block time for physicians.
• Enter lab, imaging, and billing details; compile reports for management.
• Conduct charge management audits and correct discrepancies.
• Serve as receptionist for assigned unit and manage communications and logistics.
