Job summary

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers - Jr.

VAMC in Memphis, TN is recruiting for a Cardiology physician to serve as a full-time Specialty Care provider. The role includes an affiliate faculty appointment at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center - Memphis, commensurate with qualifications. The physician will deliver state-of-the-art cardiovascular care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in teaching, and share clinical responsibilities with other cardiologists.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Board eligibility/certification in Internal Medicine or Cardiovascular Diseases.
• ACGME/AOA-accredited residency training in core specialty.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-invasive, consultative, and inpatient/outpatient cardiology care.
• Supervise and teach cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Share on-call duties with other cardiologists (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Round with residents/fellows; perform emergency procedures in ICU/ED/OR as needed.
• Deliver didactic lectures; participate in journal reviews, Grand rounds, and conferences.
