The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers - Jr.

- VAMC in Memphis, TN is recruiting for a Cardiology Section Chief to serve as a full-time Specialty Care physician. The Chief oversees multidisciplinary cardiology services and ensures state-of-the-art care with adherence to regulatory standards. Ideal candidates will have extensive cardiology experience, proven leadership of large teams, and a track record with MGMA/VA performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed physician with eligibility for board certification in cardiology.
• Experience supervising a large cardiology team (≥30 staff).
• Experience with MGMA and VA metrics; cost-containment and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multidisciplinary clinical activities in Cardiology Section.
• Develop guidelines, policies, and care methodologies for patient care.
• Coordinate with other services and supervise cardiology fellows.
• Manage Cardiology Lab operations and equipment inventory.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
