Job summary

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers - Jr. - VAMC in Memphis, TN is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a full-time position. The role involves comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, including robotic procedures, with responsibilities spanning pre-, intra-, and post-operative care and teaching residents.

Applicants must have an MD/DO, unrestricted US medical license, and board certification in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. VA benefits and a comprehensive rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MD/DO from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Board-certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery or eligible for it.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care for cardiothoracic patients.
• Perform cardiovascular and thoracic procedures including robotic surgery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supervise trainees.
• On-call responsibilities as needed.
• Obtain informed consent and discuss risks/benefits with patients and families.
