Job summary

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr., VAMC in Memphis, TN is recruiting for a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to serve as a full-time surgical care physician, reporting to the Chief of Surgery.

The role covers pre-operative, operative, and postoperative care of cardiac and thoracic patients, with involvement in multi-disciplinary chest oncology, teaching residents, and potential on-call duties. VA offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine.
• Accredited by LCME or COCA for the year of graduation.
• Foreign medical graduates must meet ECFMG eligibility if not covered above.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical service in the Cardio/Thoracic clinic.
• Care for inpatients and outpatients on the Cardiothoracic surgery service.
• Involves pre-operative, operative, and postoperative care of heart and thoracic conditions.
• Multi-disciplinary involvement in chest oncology, research, and teaching residents.
• May be on-call as needed and responsible for informed consent.
