Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiology Medicine Unit (KM9) at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. This full-time role offers a 36-hour weekly schedule with rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

The PCT will collaborate with a nursing team to deliver compassionate patient care, support care plans, and ensure safety for cardiac patients in a state-of-the-art inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Patient care experience strongly preferred (CNA/LNA/MA/EMT/PCT or nursing student with rotation).
• Completion of BIDMC in-house training program required.
• Allied Health/Pre-Med/Physician Assistant candidates encouraged.
• Home Health Aide experience a plus.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a registered nurse to develop the patient's care plan.
• Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse, including sterile dressing changes.
• Maintains patient safety using nursing safety interventions or protective devices under RN supervision.
• Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
