Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Access Representative I for Cardiology to manage registration and financial clearance, verify insurance, and perform cashier duties. This role supports Revenue Cycle Management and ensures timely patient access tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting patients, coordinating with staff, and contributing to quality improvements while maintaining high service standards in a busy cardiovascular setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of Patient Access, Medical Billing or Customer Service experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• For float roles, travel to or between clinics is required.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Health Care or Finance; medical billing/coding certification; CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 knowledge; 1 year Revenue Cycle experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete registration, financial clearance and insurance verification tasks accurately and timely.
• Assist with cashier duties and front desk responsibilities as assigned.
• Respond professionally to all patient and internal customer needs.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management and clinical teams to ensure smooth access processes.
• Support continuous quality improvement in patient access operations.
