Job summary

Atrium Health Ballantyne - Cardiology is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in Charlotte, NC. Duties include rooming patients, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, and performing lab and POCT tests.

You will assist providers with procedures and vaccinations while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. The position requires an accredited Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent military training, strong communication, and teamwork.

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training.

Responsibilities

• Rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, packing, and test results tracking.
• Perform waived CLIA-lab tests and POCT; administer medications and vaccines safely.
• Handle administrative tasks: refills, insurance authorizations, scheduling, referrals; maintain clean, stocked work environment.
