Job summary

UT Health Athens Hospital in Athens, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiology Medical Assistant (CMA). You will support physicians with administrative and clinical duties, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, CMA or RMA certification, EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Preferred associates degree and prior clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
• Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
