Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Henderson, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Medical Assistant Certified (CMA) to join our clinic team.

The CMA will perform clinical and administrative tasks under physician or APP supervision, helping with patient flow, vital signs, and documentation.

Required qualifications include high school diploma or GED, CMA or RMA certification, EMR and MS Office proficiency, and BLS certification; associate’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification required.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Support patient visits by performing chart prep and scrub, greeting patients, escorting patients to exam room to take vital signs, and relaying other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the visit and treatment.
