Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required (RMA, CMA, CCMA or NCMA) with current membership proofs where applicable.
• Strong computer skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by recording vital signs and documenting chief complaints.
• Assist providers with examinations and minor in-office procedures and administer injections, blood draws and EKGs.
• Coordinate care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling across clinical and hospital settings.
• Maintain medical records and ensure accurate billing information for each patient encounter.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and equipment following sterilization procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks as directed.
• Communicate test results to patients and act as a resource to clinicians for optimal care.
