Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program preferred.
• Less than 1 year ambulatory care experience; externship preferred or substituted.
• Cardiology offices: 6 months experience or related degree preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within 1 year required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Assists providers with patient preparation, examinations, education, and clerical support.
• Screens patients for preventative care needs, barriers to care, safety concerns, and fall risk.
• Performs point-of-care testing and basic phlebotomy as required.
• Maintains EMR documentation and participates in safety, infection control, and quality initiatives.
• Floats to other sites within the system as needed.
