UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Medical Assistant II to provide routine clinical and administrative support in the UNCH Cardiology clinic. You will work under clinical supervision for patient care and under a manager for operations.

You will perform rooming, data collection, EKGs, phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient education while maintaining a safe, efficient, patient-centered workflow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CMA/RMA required
• Experience in cardiology or specialty outpatient care preferred
• Proficient with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting with cardiac procedures
• Proficient with EHR documentation, scheduling, and patient check-in/out
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic

Responsabilités

• Performs rooming and intake with vital signs and data collection
• Collects patient and family data, including medical history
• Reviews medication list and allergies
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures
• Performs phlebotomy and administers medications under supervision
• Performs tests such as EKG under supervision
• Reviews patient records for routine health screenings
• Ensures exam/procedure rooms are stocked and ready
• Provides after-visit instructions and education
• Maintains exam rooms and sterilizes instruments
• Assists with registration, check-in/out, scheduling, and referrals
• Answers clinic calls and assists in-basket
• Assists in emergencies as directed
• May precept and train other staff and manage clinic supplies
