UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Cardiology clinic at Eastowne. This full-time, day-shift role includes vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, patient check-in/out, and procedure support.

Certification as CMA/RMA is required; cardiology experience is preferred. On-site with parking; salary offers range from $19.12 to $27.17 per hour. Benefits are provided.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent; CMA/RMA certification required.
• Experience in cardiology or specialty outpatient care preferred.
• Skills in vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting with cardiac procedures.
• Proficient with EHR documentation, scheduling and patient check-in/out.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic.

Aufgaben

• Perform rooming and intake including vital signs, height/weight, and reason for visit.
• Collect medical and social history data.
• Review medications, allergies and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and examinations.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Perform tests such as EKG and eye exams under provider direction.
• Review records to determine need for routine health screenings.
• Maintain exam/treatment rooms and ensure supplies are ready.
• Provide after-visit instructions and educational materials.
• Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain rooms.
• Sterilize instruments.
• Assist with registration, check-in/out, scheduling, tests, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls and assist in-basket per provider/nurse direction.
• Assist in emergencies as directed.
