Job summary

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, a part of Fairview Health Services, is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Assistant to join our Cardiology clinic. The role supports providers, maintains patient flow, administers medications, and documents in EMR while upholding care standards.

We offer education reimbursement, experience pay, generous PTO accruals, and an employee referral program. This is a part-time (.5) position with day/evening shifts in the Cardiology department.

Qualifications

• Current LPN Minnesota state license is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification/registration required.
• BLS certification to be completed within two months of employment.
• Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Demonstrated adherence to clinic policies, mission and values.
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• The Licensed Practical Nurse conducts a focused assessment comparing data to normal findings and current health status.
• Participates with health care team in developing/modifying the plan of care and orders.
• Implements patient care interventions delegated or ordered by a licensed provider.
• Assigns nursing activities to other licensed practical nurses.
• Assigns and monitors nursing tasks delegated to certified medical assistants or unlicensed personnel.
• Focuses on safe, effective care, patient advocacy, and collaboration with team members.
• Provides health care information to patients and reviews education materials.
• Contributes input for policies and procedures.
• Adheres to Minnesota Nurse Practice Act requirements and professional standards.
