Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa/Midland, TX seeks a Cardiologist to join the Internal Medicine Department as a faculty member. The role provides outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care and supports the Cardiology Fellowship, with opportunities for bedside teaching and lectures for fellows, residents and medical students.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency.
• Completion of, or in progress, Cardiology Fellowship.
• Ability to obtain a Texas Medical License.
• Foreign Medical Graduates: ECFMG Certification or Equivalency Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular evaluation with history and exam.
• Orders, performs and interprets non-invasive tests (stress tests, echo, EKGs).
• Outlines preventive care plans and evidence-based treatment for cardiovascular conditions.
• Monitors patient progress and manages cardiovascular risk factors and medications.
• Works with a multidisciplinary care team.
• Documents services in the patient record.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient care programs.
• Participate in bedside teaching and lectures for fellows, residents and medical students.
