Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an Exercise Physiologist to perform and coordinate exercise and pharmacological stress testing across multiple Greater Charlotte area locations. You will assess patients, explain procedures, and ensure safety during testing in a fast-paced cardiology setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology, BLS certification, and 1 year of related experience; ACSM-CEP is preferred, ACLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology is required.
• ACSM-CEP certification or eligible to test.
• BLS HCP certification is required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience; stress testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing per ACSM/AHA/ACC standards.
• Assess patients for contraindications to cardiac stress testing using recent records.
• Explain procedure, verify order, and confirm patient identity.
• Assist with transporting patients and positioning for safety.
• Recognize ECG changes and arrhythmias before, during, and after testing.
• Communicate abnormal results to physician and team.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Cross-train with related staff as needed.
