Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to perform and coordinate diagnostic procedures with the Cardiology service line. A Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology is required, with ACSM-CEP preferred; BLS HCP is required and ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Normal clinic hours Mon-Fri 7:00-5:00, 40 hours per week, with no weekends or holidays. The role emphasizes grading patient risk, coordinating care with physicians, and ensuring safety during stress tests in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology required.
• ACSM-CEP certification or eligibility preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with stress testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform exercise and/or pharmacological stress tests per ACSM/AHA/ACC guidelines.
• Assess contraindications to cardiac stress testing using latest H&P, labs, tests.
• Explain procedures, verify orders, and confirm patient identity.
• Assist with transferring patients and positioning for safety and performance.
• Identify ECG changes and arrhythmias during pre-, during, and post-test.
• Communicate abnormal results to physicians and staff.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and cross-train with related staff.
