You will enter data into the EMR and verify demographics, insurance, and charges, coordinating with the coding team.

Required CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS knowledge, NCCI/MUE edits, and proficiency with Microsoft software.

Qualifikationen

• Substantial knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifiers for outpatient and inpatient procedures.
• Knowledge of NCCI, MU, MUE edits and bundling guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate PC, web/tele-conference equipment.

Aufgaben

• Edits and reviews charges and medical documentation to determine appropriate codes and modifiers for services rendered in office and hospital settings.
• Reviews outpatient and inpatient procedure reports and enters charges into electronic medical records.
• Communicates documentation discrepancies with coding support staff and supervisor.
• Maintains open communication with the coding team and supervisor.
