Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care under physician or APP direction in an ambulatory setting. The role works Monday–Friday, in Cardiology, at 2352 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL, with duties including data gathering, patient preparation, and assisting exams.

Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma, CMA training or equivalent experience, and current BLS certification, plus applicable CMA certifications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or at least one year of verifiable CMA work experience.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains CMA/CMA-type certification from listed national bodies.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Supports quality initiatives and clinical outcome process improvement.
• Communicates effectively with patients and family members.
• Works collaboratively with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education in EMR under provider direction.
• Adheres to policies, infection control standards, and safety practices.
• Maintains regular attendance per Orlando Health policies.
