WVU Medicine in Bridgeport, West Virginia, seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) specialized in cardiology to coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other professionals. The APP assesses, diagnoses, and manages patients within their scope, participates in education of residents and students, and helps develop comprehensive care plans for inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Competenze

Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing
National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers
Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
Acute care or cardiology experience preferred.
Eligible new graduates will be considered.
ACNP preferred, but FNPs will be considered.
Bachelor’s Degree as a Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant required.
Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required.
Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required.
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine.
Masters level education as Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant preferred.

Mansioni

Manages comprehensive and individualized care for cardiology patients and their families in the inpatient phase of hospitalization and immediate post discharge in the ambulatory setting.
Completes daily rounds; consults and/or pre-procedure/evaluations.
Completes integrated assessments.
Orders additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate following guidelines.
Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following established guidelines.
Collaborates with clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings.
Develops a comprehensive plan of care including education and discharge planning.
Demonstrates expertise across the age continuum and provides leadership for educational programs.
