Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago's Hyde Park campus is seeking a Staff Nurse for the 4W Cardiovascular/Thoracic/Heart/Lung Transplant Tele unit. This is a 100% onsite role based in the greater Chicagoland area.

The nurse will manage patient-centered care on a telemetry unit, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support a high-acuity post-surgical population with pathway-driven plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months and complete within 30 months; 100% tuition reimbursement toward BSN.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes assessment skills to determine patient needs and plans of care.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
• Provides support to peers and acts as a resource within the team.
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.
